I am completely disgusted!

I noticed a promotion banner on a recipe/craft site for a movie that is due out this month called "Hamlet 2." What disgusts me about it is their logo says "Let sexy Jesus rock you." This is HORRIFIC and UNACCEPTABLE!!! I can not believe anyone would promote their film by using such poor taste and disrespect for our LORD and Savior!!!

Focus features and Film In Focus are the names behind the feature, which stars Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, David Arquette and Elizabeth Shue. The film is supposed to be about a high school drama teacher that believes in his freedom of speech and to thine own self be true and having the drama students perform this play. What a gross display this is. They even have a video and song about "Sexy Jesus." It is absolutely a morally lax slap in the face.

The fact that the film is about high school and is geared towards youth is an outright ploy to poison the minds of our youth. It is NOT a fun film, it's clearly a crass, distasteful attempt to glamorize that which is immoral. When will we as Christians and as parents take our stand against such attacks!?! I for one am going to write them and voice my concerns and disgust of this.

Sausage Bake & Yummy Cake

I wanted to share last nights supper with you. I had some homemade pasta gravy left over from Sunday's dinner, so instead of having spaghetti again I decided to thaw out a package of link sausage and begin creating. Here's what I came up with...

Sausage Bake
1-lb. link sausage (I used Burton brand green onion sausage)
1-1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese (can use mozzarella for more of an Italian taste)
1-lb. whole wheat rotini noodles
3-4 c. homemade pasta gravy (can use store bought if need be)

Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, return to cooking pot & set aside.

Slice sausage links. Place into preheated skillet and saute over medium heat.
Once sausage is heated through, transfer to a colander and drain grease.

Combine pasta gravy, sausage and cooked noodles. Toss to coat well.

Transfer to a 9x13" casserole dish. Spread mixture evenly. Then top with a layer of grated cheese.

Bake uncovered at 350* for 20-25 minutes or until heated through and cheese has melted.

We don't normally have desert but last night I was in the mood for cake. I cheated and used a box mix but I sprinkled the powdered sugar on top myself, so does that count as homemade!?! *grin*

The Value Of Your Vision

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only I could see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her, “Now that you can see the world, will you
marry me?”

The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: “Take good care of your eyes, my dear; for before they were yours, they were mine.”

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is a Gift:

Today- before you say an unkind word – think of someone who can't speak.

Before- you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before-you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today- before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before- you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before- you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before- whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us is without sin.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

What Would You Do For 40 Days?

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am not a huge fan of the movies. Now days everything is geared toward sex, drugs and violence. There are few, if any, good wholesome family films anymore. Even the cartoons (now called anime films) that even have inappropriate innuendos in them. This is so sad. So when I saw the trailer to a new movie that is due out next month, I didn't want to let it go unnoticed. In a society that views marriage as a disposable commodity, I commend the writers/actors/producers of this film for doing what most other won't...Putting Family & Marriage First. I know I will be going to see and support this film. It is due to hit the theaters September 26, 2008.

For Today...

Outside my Window...is another hot, overcast day

I am thinking...it is lunch time in my opinion *grin*

I am thankful for...the godly discipline and instruction that the LORD bestows
upon those HE loves; which means HE must love me alot! *smile*

From the kitchen...is a work in progress.

I am wearing...tan capri pants and a red & tan t-shirt

I am reading...my study notes from yesterday's message at Church

I am hoping...for a peaceful weekend

I am hearing...one cat instigate a fight with the other

I am creating...Christmas crafts. In fact this weekend my Sister in law
and Aunt and I had craft time together. Oh what fun we had.
I am looking forward to next months project time together.

Around the house...deep cleaning the kitchen...wiping down the blinds, washing
windows and kitchen/patio door, wiping down baseboards

One of my favorite things...is to know that my husband is finally voicing
his excitement and is ready for us to begin starting our own family together

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...more deep cleaning of the house.
My plan is a room a day.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Sam
Our Aunt's sweet baby boy.
He is a spitfire that's for sure! *grin*
Just look at that face...could he ever do any wrong?
Never!!!
